Before she knew it, Joanna Murphy was helping credit union customers during the day and newly referred customers during the off-hours. New England Credit Consultants was in business. Eventually, Joanna gave notice at the credit union and turned her full-time attention to her growing list of New England Credit Consultant customers.

When Joanna Murphy, founder of New England Credit Consultants, received a call from a former employer suggesting she open a credit repair agency because the only certified business in the State of Maine had just closed, she said she’d think about it and hung up. Joanna had no intention of opening her own company; she was happy with her work as a certified financial counselor and senior loan officer at a local credit union. Despite this, Joanna’s former employer was persistent and began referring her clients.
